Windows 95/98/ME Dialup Guide

Step 1

Double click the My Computer icon on your Desktop.

Step 2

Double click the Dial-Up Networking icon.

Step 3

Double click the Make New Connectiion icon.

Step 4

The New Connection wizard will appear on screen. Type Comcen into the Type a Name for the Computer You Are Dialing field.

Click the Next button.

Step 5

Enter 0198 333 873 into the Telephone number field and then click the Next button.

Step 6

Click the Finish button.

Step 7

Right click on the icon that you just created and select Properties.

Step 8

Make sure that you un-tick the box next to Use Area Code and Dialing Properties.

Click the Server Types tab.

Step 9

Make sure that you un-tick the following:

- Logon to Network

- Net BEUI

- IPX/SPX Compatible

The only boxes that should be ticked are Enable software compression and TCP/IP.

Click the OK button.

Step 10

Right click the Connection you just created and select Create Shortcut.

Step 11

Click the Yes button.

Step 12

Double click the shortcut that you just created on your Desktop

Step 13

Enter your user name and password.

Make sure that the phone number is correct before you click the Connect button.
