Why is my browsing slow?

Many customers may go through certain periods when experiencing problems or slowness while being online with their Internet Connection. Comcen suggests you check the following points to see whether or not the problem can be solved before you call our Technical Support team.

  • Make sure all connections and plugs are correctly connected and working.
  • Check for viruses and worms (http://housecall.antivirus.com).
  • Check your packets or bytes sent and received. If more is being sent then received on a continual dataflow and you're not using the connection then you would have an infection on your machine. Scan it or take it to a local technician to fix the problem.
  • Check to make sure their are no known outages or problems on our network.
  • After checking all these points test your connection speed at http://testmyspeed.comcen.com.au
  • Check to see whether or not using a "Proxy Server" may alter the performance of your browsing.
  • If you are still not satisfied with your connection speeds and you would like to have the problem investigated further then give our support team a call on 1300 300 324 and we'll be able to troubleshoot the problem further on the phone. Do take note we will be asking you the same questions and checklist so please be patient with us if you've already done it.
