What is a Virus?
In computer security technology, a virus is a self-replicating program that spreads by inserting copies of itself into other executable code or documents (for a complete definition: see below). Thus, a computer virus behaves in a way similar to a biological virus, which spreads by inserting itself into living cells. Extending the analogy, the insertion of the virus into a program is termed infection, and the infected file (or executable code that is not part of a file) is called a host. What can a little computer virus do?Virus’ can cause many destructive or annoying effects upon your personal computer. Virus’ can also send copies of themselves out to your friends and family who are on your contact list in your email account and infect their computers as well. Virus’ can go as far as steaming sensitive information from your computer and transmitting it back to its creator. How did I get this Virus? Computer Virus’ normally enter your computer through Email attachment, Downloading files/documents or just browsing the web. How do I detect and remove a Virus?
