The Online Journal of Pharmacokinetics (OJPK) is a reviewed journal with 8 doctoral or professorial editorial board members. The journal specializes in pharmacokinetics and consists of updated and archived full-text articles with abstracts. The format provides scientists with an opportunity to rapidly submit and disseminate peer-reviewed work globally. All submissions are peer reviewed by two (2) persons qualified in the field chosen from the editorial board or commissioned from another institution. Articles submitted to the OJPK should be able to be read by persons not specialized in the field and data can be presented in graphs, photographs or movies. Example of recent published work (in MSWord) may be viewed here. Articles are usually published within 28 days of acceptance.
The main criteria for publication in the OJPK is scientific soundness and originality supported by Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines, conciseness, appropriate sampling and statistical analysis. Presently Full-text articles and Abstracts may be viewed without fees. it is the Editorial Board's policy to remain at "Arms Length" of any institution.
All articles are permanently available, archived and updated when relevant information is received. Accepted articles are immediately posted throughout all the major web-search engines and OJK posts the relevant key words of articles on the World Wide Web. The dissemination of veterinary research information and bio-informatics through the World Wide Web provides rapid access to a wider interested audience. The review and publication process is quicker and more efficient than the standard fare (paper print). The quality of publication is superior compared with paper publications allowing economic colour presentation of graphical data.
The journal focuses on original research work either as full-text reports or short communications. OJK also publishes solicited or unsolicited review articles. As a guide, the editorial board will consider publication of work from the following areas:

Note: Submissions will NOT be processed until the OJPK copyright form is sent to Address 1 and Address 2 together with your submission. Receipt of the completed form constitutes transfer of copyright (please read the form for further information). Once authors have signed and returned the copyright form, and have been notified by the OJPK that a submission has been accepted, it is usually not possible to withdraw publication. Emails and attachments that contain viruses are not read and are automatically deleted by our servers.
All work must be submitted electronically to two (2) email addresses: Address 1 and Address 2 . An example of a published OJPK article may be found HERE (doc file). Full-text manuscripts may be submitted in HTML, WORD, PDF or any other suitable format. The ABSTRACT should describe why the work was done and outline the results and the conclusions. Web formating, titles, headings and key words for searching purposes will be done by OJPK. The submission should start with the respective TITLE, AUTHOR'S NAMES and qualifications, affiliations, address for correspondence and email address. The following pages should be set out as : Abstract (<200 words) with Key Words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and References. References in text should be set out as (Surname, 1996), (Surname1 and Surname 2. 1996) and more than 2 authors as (Surname1 et al., 1996). References should be listed as author (year), title, journal name in full, volume and pages.
Short communications: Contributors may avail themselves of OJPK to report important new research results as rapidly as possible. The work should be presented in the form of a short abstract with supporting condensed data and its significance. The short reports should not exceed 1000 words and 25 references.
Review articles: Authors may submit a compendium of their own research work or a review of the current and future status of areas of interest (see list above). Solicited or unsolicited articles will be reviewed by the Editorial Board. Reviews should include an abstract, an introduction and brief headings. The article should not exceed 3000 words and 60 references.
Text
and graphic formats: Manuscrips should
be typed in common word processing programs such as Word and Wordperfect
or other suitable text files. Graphs may be sent as .bmp, .pcx, .gif,
jpg formats. Also movies with
rm,
mov, mpeg or any microsoft format are acceptable.
Manuscript review: Submissions will be reviewed by two or more independent referees, and if accepted, will be published in The OJPK. The referees reports of accepted work will be emailed to Authors within 14 days. Submissions not deemed suitable will be returned without a referees report and erased from all OJPK servers/directories/files. OJK will not retain copyright to articles that are not published in the OJPK.
Publication: Submissions are accepted on the condition that they will not be published elsewhere. Once a paper has been accepted, the author will be advised and sent a Copyright Transfer Form. The title will be advertised throughout the internet and on OJK's main web page and assigned a date for publication. Manuscripts will remain posted indefinitely and archived. Archived articles will be able to be retrieved through an assigned URL.
Conditions for Submission and Publication in The Online Journal of Pharmacokinetics: Authors must submit their work to Address 1 and Address 2. Authors must remit with their submission a completed OJK copyright form which will constitute acceptance of the conditions therein. Upon acceptance of a submission the title will be advertised on the internet and listed on the Journals main web page. Authors submitting on behalf of an institution must provide written evidence of acceptance by the Institution. Manuscripts will remain posted indefinitely and archived. Archived articles will be able to be retrieved through an assigned URL. OJPK will not retain any rights or material not published in the OJPK.
